The works included in the Shameless Bird Girl online collection are bigger than I’ve ever done before. Sizes include, 30 x 22”, 30 x 30”, and 40 x 30”. This series of work came together while I was taking on bigger commissions. I wanted to get a feel for the scale before I went for it on a commission piece. You may notice the three 40 x 30” pieces are all very different from one another. At least, to me they are!

Tree Top Acoustics is familiar but also freshened up with horizontal orientation and soft shapes.

Evolving Like An Egg On A Skillet is a piece that caught me off guard but in a really good way. I freed up the marks coming off my original line, which really brings the energy. My initial reaction when I stood back from this piece was, “this is evolving…. like an egg on a skillet.”

The Big Picture is so satisfying to me. I am drawn to the background color, which was mixed directly on the paper. You’ll see chartreuse, grey olive, yellows and muted teal. The line work is simple and smooth, but it still has plenty of interest.
